Government has granted Rs 4.91 crores to underkae developmental works to Town Municipality Council, informed MLA K G Bopayya in a press meet here.
Addressing the press persons, he said this fund will be released in two stages viz; Rs 203 lakh in the first stage and 288 lakh in the second stage which will be utilised for the basic neccessities like drinking water and construction of roads and drainages, he added.
Mr Bopayya said short tenders will be called very soon as the Deputy Commissioner is powered by the Government with the responsiblity.
He informed that compensation will be sought in the coming Vidhana Sabha session for the damages caused by heavy rainfall and wind last week. He appealed to the farmers who have suffered the brunt to send an application to Taluk Office.
