Two persons were reported dead on Wednesday and Thursday in Raichur, following heavy rains.

Madina Begum, a 12-year-old girl died on the spot when a boulder fell on her at Shivangi village of Deodurg taluk on Wednesday. Madina was said to have taken shelter under some rocks from the pouring rain.

In another incident reported from Aroli village of Manvi taluk, Tayamma (12) was killed instantly and three others injured due to house collapse.

It can be mentioned here that three people were killed by lightning at Sampattrayana Doddi of Deodurg taluk and seven others were reported dead the next day. The number of deaths has increased to 12 now.

The district received heavy rains again on Thursday, affecting normal life.
