CorpBank’s online edu loan
Corporation Bank on Friday launched the "Online Request Facility for the Education Loan Product" - CorpVidya for the convenience of students who have secured admission to professional courses.
    In the online request facility - an applicant has to log into the Bank's website www.corpbank.in, click the "Online Request for CorpVidya [Education Loan]" button on the Home Page. The applicant has to fill and submit the relevant details. The Bank will then scrutinise the details and give an in-principle sanction. The Bank will communicate the in-principle sanction to the applicant through e-mail, with a copy of it to the nearest branch and Zonal Office. 

Suzlon signs largest contract
Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation announced on Friday that it has extended its contract with PPM Energy to add 300 MW of wind turbine capacity. This is one of the largest single contracts in the history of the company and the US wind energy industry.  The original agreement calls for delivery of 300 MW of turbine capacity in 2008 and 100 MW of capacity in 2009, but it is now extended to include an additional 300 MW in 2009.

Acer launches new notebooks
Acer on Thursday introduced two distinctive notebook designs in New Delhi to address the separate needs and expectation of consumer and commercial notebook users in India. With the new Aspire notebooks, Acer is the world's first to offer Dolby Home Theatre for virtual surround sound across the full line of consumer notebooks. The notebooks run on the new Intel Centrino Duo platform.

Ansal plans to set up 30 hotels
Ansal Properties and Infrastructure (APIL), on Friday, announced it would set up around 30 hotels over the next ten years with an investment outlay of Rs 2000 crore. In an official release issued to the BSE here, the Company said  it is set to forming a special purpose vehicle (SPV) in which it will hold 80 per cent equity and the balance will be held by Ambience Hospitality Management, reports DHNS from Mumbai. 

RBI’s housing stat index survey
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday said it is contemplating to put in place a housing stat index survey to record the progress in the housing sector, reports DHNS from Mumbai.“Housing stats are something developed countries are watching very closely,” RBI Deputy Governor Rakesh Mohan said here.
      Denying that the survey has been led by any concerns regarding the booming housing sector, Mr Mohan said, “It is the index of construction activities and is a good indicator of economic activity over a period of time. Presently, no such data is available.” RBI was also looking at technically improving the inflation expectation survey.
