Managements of educational and social welfare institutions belonging to minority community have formed an organisation to fight for the rights and also solve their problems.

About 70 educational and social welfare institutions have joined hands to constitute a Federation of Managements of Minorities Educational and Social Welfare Institutions.

The decision was taken in the meeting held here recently. Members of these institutions decide to constitute a body for the welfare of minorities institutions.

It was felt that a large number of educational institutions are run in the city but there was no co-ordination whatsoever among them.

The minorities  run a number of educational institutions including medical, dental, pharmacy, engineering, polytechnic,  and general education colleges. Hundreds of teachers working in these institutions teach thousands of students.

Co-ordination

The representatives of minorities institutions felt that there was a need to forge a meaningful co-ordination among them at least for the exchange of views.

They can also discuss the new schemes of the state and union governments with regard to minorities educational institutions and make them better use.

They also complained that minorities educational institutions   are facing certain problems due to some of the policies, which can be solved easily with a united struggle.

Ashfaq Ahmed Chulbul was elected as president of the Federation. The other office bearers are:Md Azeemuddin  and Md Yunus Hussain (vice presidents), Kaleemuddin (general secretary) Gulam Rabbani, Md Allauddin (joint secretaries) Md Faizuddin, Md Attar Baba (organising secretary) Md Azam Ali (treasurer).
