Mr K R Niranjan took charge as the new deputy commissioner for Kodagu district on Friday. Addressing the officials soon after taking charge from the outgoing DC Subodh Yadav, Mr Niranjan directed the officials to clear the pending files within the stipulated time.

He said a number of problems will be solved if the pending files are cleared at the earliest. Stating that the outgoing DC has briefed him about the present problems of the district, he said he will take steps for the betterment of the district after discussing with the officials concerned.

There are lot of opportunities for tourism in the district and efforts will be made to tap the tourism potential in the district, he said. Mr Subodh Yadav has been posted as the joint commissioner for Brahath Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
