The students of Yenepoya Medical college under community posting as part of their health study conducted a health awareness programme at Bagambila on June 20.
According to a press release, the students made a presentation on ‘Mother and Child Health’ and ‘Mosquito born diseases’ with the aid of songs, role play and posters.
They highlighted information on antenatal care, child care, feeding practices and immunisation and clinical features, causes, treatment and prevention of Malaria, Filarisis, Dengue and Chikungunya.
Senior Health Educator of the Department of Community Medicine of the College Irene Veigas, Social Worker Athika, Panchayat member Lata Umesh, Nagarika Seva Samithi President Aithappa Poojari, Mahila Mandali President Prameela, Anganwadi worker B Pushpa among others were present on the occasion.
