Veil casts shadow on Himeshs film
DH News Service,Jaipur:

The veil controversy cast its gloom over singer-turned-actor Himesh Reshammiya’s maiden movie Aap Ka Suroor on Friday when NSUI activists halted its first show at Ajmer.
Angry with Reshammiya for donning a burqa (veil) while paying obeisance at the Ajmer dargah on Tuesday, the activists staged protests at the cinema hall. They allegedly set afire movie posters and hoardings and made viewers vacate the cinema hall. They then reportedly locked the movie hall.
A number of activists led by NSUI district chief staged a protest in front of the cinema hall Cine World where the morning show of Reshammiya’s movie was slated on Friday. They were upset over the fact that Reshammiya not only hurt religious feelings by wearing a burqa to visit the dargah but the act was also akin to playing with the security arrangements at the mosque.
Police intervened to control the situation while the movie show was delayed for almost an hour.
The singer-turned-actor who visited the dargah on Tuesday had wore the veil ostensibly to avoid his fans while offering prayers at the dargah ahead of the release of his film.
The dargah committee had objected to his inappropriate dress in the dargah premises and Reshammiya had to tender an apology.
