TO TOUR ALL DISTRICTS FROM JULY 1
Sindhia predicts early elections
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Janata Dal (Secular), Surendra Mohan faction leader P G R Sindhia on Friday said elections to the Karnataka assembly is not far-off.

Addressing reporters, he said, in all probability, the state would have fresh elections by the end of this year or early 2008.

“The political situation in Karnataka today, reminds me of the situation in 1982. The BJP-JD (S) government is complete with misrule and corruption.

There is no governance at all. Farmers are affected, whether it is suicides or the SEZ issue. The CM’s name is linked with the real estate lobby.  This is the right time for all Janata parivar forces to come together and seek a fresh mandate before the people,” Sindhia said.

Sindhia announced, he would tour all districts with other leaders to unite the party from July 1.
Party Lok Sabha MP Veerendra Kumar said, whether it was the issue of SEZs, farmers suicide or the president’s election, the party was united.

Against JD (Sons)

Addressing the meeting litterateur Dr U R Ananthamurthy said the JD (S) faction led by Surendra Mohan is the Janata Dal in its true sense. “It would be wrong to call it as a faction. I am not against Deve Gowda.

In fact I congratulated him when he became the CM. I am against the JD (S) led by him as it has turned into a JD (Sons) party. By aligning with the BJP, the State is on its way to become another Gujarat.

Regarding Kadidal Shamanna being called a naxal sympathiser, Dr Ananthamurthy added, “Tomorrow, if the Sangh parivar comes to power, I too would be called a naxalite. The social cause of taking to naxalism must be taken into account, rather than attacking those backing the oppressed.”
