Death on City roads: 8 killed

Eight people were killed in separate accidents in the last 24 hours.

A man died and four injured in a collision between a truck and a car on Kanakapura main road on Sunday night. Details of the deceased are the injured are not known.

According to the police, a speeding truck from Bangalore rammed into a car on its way to Bangalore. Car driver died on the spot. The truck driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped.

Auto driver killed
An auto driver died when an ambulance rammed into it on Mathikere main road. He has been identified as Dorairaju (42), a resident of Yeshwanthpur.

Dorairaju was returning home from Mathikere towards Yeshwanthpur. The ambulance, which belonged to Chitradurga District Government Hospital, was carrying patients to M S Ramaiah Hospital.

Dorairaju was rushed to M S Ramaiah Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. Ambulance driver escaped after shifting the patients to the hospital.

Man knocked down
Govind Reddy (24), a resident of Dodda Banaswadi, died after a lorry rammed into his motobike near Channasandra Railway gate in KR Puram police station limits.

A speeding lorry on Rama Murthy Nagar Ring Road ran over Anand Kumar (15) in the early hours of Sunday.
In a similar accident, Samiulla (50) died after he was knocked down by an autorickshaw.

A motorcycle rider lost control and rammed into a stone while trying to avoid a pedestrian and died near CWS quarters at Madiwala. He has been identified as Vinay, a Bomanahalli resident.

A man died after he was knocked down by a water tanker near Kanteerava Studio. He has been identified as Dorairaju (33), a resident of Yeshwanthpur. Truck driver admitted Dorairaju to Nimhans, where he breathed his last.

A cleaner died when a water tanker on which he was sitting overturned in Tirumagondanahalli in Hebbagodi police station limits on Sunday. He has been identified as Sidda, a resident of old Chandrapura.
