Husband sets wife ablaze
A 22-year-old housewife was set ablaze, allegedly by her husband, in Kudalahalli Layout in Mahadevpura police station limits on Saturday.
The deceased Devaki died at Victoria hospital burns ward after battling for life for nearly eight hours.
Devaki was married to Babu two-and-a-half years ago . The couple used to quarrel over dowry every now and then. At around 1.30 pm on Saturday, Babu poured kerosene on Devaki and set her ablaze. While she was in flames, he locked the door from outside and left the scene, police said.
Police have arrested Babu, his parents Kantha and Narayana, and brothers Ramamurthy and Sudhakar.

Robbers nabbed in no time
Within an hour of a robbery being reported, Nandini Layout police managed to nab the culprits.
Around 3.25 am: Rajashekar Gurunanda Shetty and his friends, residents of II Block, J J Nagar, alighted from a KSRTC bus near Kanteerava Studio. When they were looking out for an auto rickshaw, a four-member gang in a four-wheeler waylaid and robbed their belongings at knife point. One of the victims managed to register the car number and rushed to the police station.
In the meantime, the same gang had created flutters on the way near Gorguntepalya and Jalahalli BEL circle.
4 am:  A complaint was registered at Nandini Layout police station. Police recorded all the details.
4.08 am: Police alerted their counterparts and started checking all the vehicles by erecting temporary check posts.
4.20 am: Police located the car near a tea joint in the same area and arrested the culprits.
Vijay Kumar (24), car owner and a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout and Vishwanath (24) from Jai Maruthi Nagar have been arrested while two of their accomplices managed to escape.
