There is no chance of increasing the government medical seats fees in private colleges, said Medical Education Department Director Ramananda Shetty.
Speaking to reporters he said private medical colleges had put forward a proposal before the government with regard to the fee hike in private medical colleges in view of the hike in teaching faculty‘s payment.
The private colleges authority had asked the government to increase the fee from Rs 35,000 to Rs1.35 lakh to bear the loss, he added.
CET counselling is already over, private medical college managements have signed the agreement letter with the government. At this point of time it is not possible to think of the fee hike proposal, he said.
The government is expecting the permission from Medical Committee of India to start Medical Sciences Institute of Raichur from the current academic year.
First year classes can be started as the basic facilities have been provided to the institute as per MCA rules. Moreover there will be no dearth of teaching faculty as the payment of the staff has been revised, he added.
Supreme Court has given the permission to the medical colleges which are waiting for the permission to admit students till September 3. Hence there is no problem for the admission process.
