The Regional Transport Officer (RTO) in a press release has directed those vehicle-owners who are planning to install liquified petroleum gas (LPG) kits to their vehicles, to get it done only at government-authorised centres.
The vehicle-owners who wish to change the mode of fuel should fill Form No. 29 of the Karnataka Motor Vehicle Act and obtain authorisation for the conversion on payment of a fee of Rs 50, the release informed.
The authorised centres include Arun Autogas (Ujjodi); Rohan Car Gas Conversion (Kankanady); N N Autogas (Jeppu) and Jilu Autogas (Pandeshwar), the release stated and added that there were three LPG refilling stations in the City including one in Balmatta and other near Capitanio High School.
