The Graduation Show of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bangalore showcased a breath-taking effort by espiring designers at the St Johns Auditorium on May 28.
The graduating students of the NIFT presented their design collection and research projects, titled “Showcase” during this show. The research projects were undertaken by the students of Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories. These projects were on diversified subjects like flexible manufacturing system, merchandise planning, development of software and rationalisation of work force.
What followed was ‘Fashionova’, presented by the graduating Fashion and Apparel stream, who were challenged to demonstrate their personal styles and innovative designs, having made use of professional models. Stylish and comprehensive, the clothing lines showcased the students’ creativity and the spectrum of fashion accessories that defined the theme effectively.
Off the street
‘7th Avenue’, a collection inspired by street fashion, ‘where one is full of attitude’ was a favourite theme amongst the audience. ‘Oriental Bazaar’, was another theme that saw a palette of bright eastern colours inspired by the liveliness of a bazaar.
Happy and bright colours on display completed the attire, brightening the evening with more style and glamour.
Here the designs were more wearable for women than men.
Unique couture
With thumping music, extravagant fabrics and flashy accessories, the graduation show also saw a unique inspiration drawn from insects in the display named ‘Insect-o-Asset’ coupled with the Women of Shakespears era.
A truly memorable affair, the fashion event saw the budding professionals at their best.
