First time after the controversial statement by Labour Minister Iqbal Ansari on handing over of power to the BJP, ministers of both coalition partners will come face-to-face at the Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on Monday.
Ansari’s statement which triggered a speculation political circles is likely to figure prominently in the meeting. Especially BJP ministers, who are upset with it, are likely to raise the issue.
The labour minister, while campaigning in the Ullal bypoll, had recently stated that H D Kumaraswamy will continue as the Chief Minister even after the expiry of 20 month’s term and that the JD(S) will not hand over the power to the BJP. Besides, the proposal to provide more powers to the Karnataka Lokayukta, extending loan to sugarcane farmers and others are also likely to come up in the meeting.
