It was a day of joy coupled with the hangover of summer vacation for students of CBSE and ICSE schools which re-opened on Monday.
Clad well and neatly combed, students entered classes and the school once again reverberated with prayers and pledges after a two-month gap.
At Bishop Cotton School, principal Ms Franklin said the school opened as per schedule and students received their textbooks during the vacation itself. So, there wasn’t any crisis for textbooks.
For N Ramesh of Bishop Cotton School, vacation was good but he was missing his classmates. National Public School students were of the same opinion.
Other CBSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalaya and the Army Service Corps School will re-open in the last week of June.
