Woman guard found murdered
A 30-year-old woman's body was found in a decomposed state at her Dasarahalli residence in Peenya police station limits on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Radha, a security guard working at a garment factory. The body bore burn marks and police suspect she might have been killed on Sunday.
After divorcing her first husband, Radha was living with a man, with her child.
On Sunday morning the man with whom Radha was staying had handed over the child to the neighbours and requested them to take care of the child till she returned.
Neighbours, who waited till Monday, alerted the police. A search is on for the man.
Another body found
Mico Layout police found the body of a man near Sreenivasa theatre, Sudkuntepalya on Monday night.
Blackbuck pelt recovered
The forest cell officials of CBI conducted raids at three places and arrested three persons on charges of possessing blackbuck pelt. They recovered 23 boxes of blackbuck pelt worth Rs 1 lakh.
Officials raided a house in Jayanagar 5th Block and recovered 13 boxes of blackbuck pelt worth Rs 50,000. Puttaswamy (25), of Marenahalli in J P Nagar, and Gururaj (55) of Tavarakere were arrested. They raided Narayanachar Pooja Bhandar at Basavanagudi and recovered 10 boxes of blackbuck pelt worth Rs 50,000. Latha, a resident of Tyagarajanagar, was arrested.
Extra cover for women’s hostel
|Police have deployed additional personnel at Ambedkar Medical College women's hostel in D J Halli police limits following a series of thefts being reported there.
On Monday, a sub-inspector was asked to study the modus-operandi of miscreants and submit a report. It was found some miscreants had gained entry into the hostel by cutting open the rear window grill and stolen cellphones and other valuables.
Man electrocuted
Lokesh (40) died when he came in contact with a live wire in Subramanyapura police station limits on Sunday night. The incident occurred when he was returning home near Doddakallasandra.
Credit card stolen
Yet another case of stolen credit card was reported in Ashok Nagar police station limits on Monday. Akhil Bansal is the latest victim. He found his credit card missing on Monday. By the time he realised the loss, miscreants had used it to the tune of Rs 92,000 in one day.
Courting trouble with cellphone
A man found using his cellphone at the Mayo Hall court was booked on Monday. He was asked to cough up Rs 700 as fine. Public Prosecutor T Naga Reddy found Ramaswamy using his cellphone at 11th ACMM court and brought it to the notice of the magistrate. Ashok Nagar police, who were present there, apprehended Ramaswamy.
