It has been decided to propose litterateur Vyasaraya Ballal’s name to Kannada Sahitya Parishat Central Committee to preside for the 74th Akhila Bharatha Sahitya Sammelan scheduled to be held in October in Udupi.
   As many as 43 sub-committees have been formed for the success of the Sammelan. Speaking after releasing the emblem of the Sahitya Sammelan, Medical Education Minister Dr V S Acharya said “the sammelna should reflect the rich cultural heritage of the land.”
   He said Udupi is hosting the Sammelan after 47 years. Udupi sammelan should become a  historical Sammelan. Everyone should work towards the success of the sammelan.
   Litterateur Dr Kayyara Kinhanna Rai said Sammelan’s should come out of the perview of language barrier.
  Welcome Committee Working President MLA Ragupathi Bhat, Honourary President K K Pai, Manipal Academy Administrator Dr H Shantharam, Dakshina Kannada district Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura among others were present.
