Bosch’s products for environment
Motor Industries Company (Mico), flagship of the Bosch Group in India, on Tuesday observed the World Environment Day 2007 in recognition  of the current subject ‘Melting ice - a hot topic,’ at their Naganathpura facility, near Bangalore. Out of its total investment of Euro 3.3 billion in R&D, in 2006, Bosch invested 1.4 billion euro into products that help protect the environment. Nearly 1200 out of the 3000 patents filed worldwide are related directly to environmental protection and resource conservation, announced the company.

Bio Talent zone at Bangalore Bio

Leader Prospects India, a leading HR firm, announced in Bangalore on Wednesday that it is organising a Bio Talent pavillion at the Bangalore Bio 2007 that started on Thursday. The Bio Talent pavilion is focused at addressing the human resource challenges in Biotech India. The Bio Talent zone will be inaugurated by H E Prof David de Kretser, Governor, State of Victoria, Australia. Tata Indicom’s  new package

Tata Teleservices unveiled on Tuesday in Bangalore an affordable bundled offer at Rs 1,099. Along with the handset, customers get a free go active connection worth Rs 499, with free incoming for a year. The customers can further combine the offer with an add-on ‘POWER’ pack that reduces the local call rate to just 49 paise per min to any mobile.

EMC, IIIT-B’s  agreement

EMC announced in Bangalore on Wednesday that the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIIT-B) has signed an agreement with EMC (Benelux) B V SARL, a subsidiary of EMC Corporation, to join the EMC Academy Program (EAP) in India. Under this program, IIIT-B will offer a course in information storage technology to its second year post graduate students from July 2007. As part of the EMC Academy Program, IIIT-B will receive vendor agnostic curriculum, course content, learning materials, faculty trainings and software simulators developed by EMC.

UB’s open offer to Air Deccan

UB Group, which has acquired 26 per cent in Deccan Aviation Ltd, on Wednesday made an open offer to shareholders of the company to buy an additional 20 per cent stake for about Rs 420 crore. The offer was for acquiring 2.70 crore shares of Deccan Aviation at a price of Rs 155 per share. The offer would open from July 25 and close on August 13, the company said in Mumbai. UB group plans to utilize a combination of internal accruals and borrowed capital to fund the acquisition.

Adfactors’ tie-up with Waggener
Waggener Edstrom Worldwide (WE) and Adfactors PR announced in Mumbai on Wednesday that they have entered into an affiliation agreement to collaborate in the technology public relations and communications field. Both agencies will benefit from joint training programs, staff exchanges and the sharing of intellectual property.

Suzlon Secures 630 MW Order

Suzlon Wind Energy announced in Pune on Wednesday that it has signed a contract to supply a total of 300 units of the S88-2.1 MW turbine-equivalent to 630 MW of capacity, with Edison Mission Group (EMG) of Irvine, California. The two-phase contract calls for delivery of 315 MW of turbine capacity in 2008 and another 315 MW of capacity in 2009.
