Rly police accused of hushing up murder
Gulbarga, DHNS:

Senior leader and former minister S K Kanta has charged the Railway Police of Wadi Police Station with hushing up a murder case and registering the same as a case of unnatural death.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday Kantha stated that 28 year-old Srikant of Melkundi was allegedly murdered near Babalad and the body was thrown on railway tracks on March 27. However, the railway police treated this as a case of railway accident and registered an unnatural death report (UDR) at Wadi railway police station.
According to Kanta, the dead body with multiple external injuries clearly tell that the person did not die due to accident. The post mortem report also does not suggest the death due to accident. It said the death was due to cardio respiratory arrest as a result of haemorrhage shock due to injury to vital organs associated with head injuries.Although the parents of the deceased said their son had been murdered the railway police had turned down the contention. Also, the railway police, in unusual haste had performed the inquest without informing the parents and treated the case as an accident, finally sending the body to the village for burrial. Kanta said a formal petition will be given to the sub-divisional magistrate on Thursday, seeking to exhume the body for conducting another postmortem.
