Bringing about a permanent solution for sea erosion in Ullal and setting right the discrepancies in the distribution of ration cards will be the two major tasks before the newly elected Ullal MLA U T Khader.
Addressing media men here on Wednesday, he said he was ready to render any kind of assistance and co-operation to the State government in solving the two significant problems haunting the constituency.
Mr Khader expressed his dissatisfaction that the government had not allotted a single paise in its last annual budget in order to make genuine efforts to control sea erosion, though it was the most troublesome problem of the region.
Offering his greetings to the Ullal electorate, the MLA said they had shown their admiration towards the principles and ideologies of the Congress party, and added that he would try his level best to retain their faith.
‘Victory to youth’
District Youth Congress President Bondala Jagannath Shetty defined the election of Mr Khader as “a victory to the youth power”.
Being the president of Ullal Block Youth Congress, Mr Khader had been successful in reaching out the people. Voters have indicated their will by electing him as their representative, he observed.
The election results are a directive to the Congress. Those who just wander with the names of religion and gods, have learnt a lesson now. Mr Iqbal Ansari has been prescribing proper medicine for BJP’s cancer on a daily basis, Mr Bondala said with a sarcastic note.
Stating that the BJP leaders might have been getting answers to their questions after the election result, he said Mr D V Sadananda Gowda might have been convinced that he was a coin without value, but not the Congress leaders, as he had stated during electioneering.
Youth Congress leaders Vishwas Kumar Das, A K Sujir, Umar Farooq, Sharief and Vinay Raj were present in the press meet.
