US climate plan will back UN bids  
A US plan for fighting global warming will fold into wider UN efforts rather than set up a rival track, President George W Bush said on Wednesday as G8 (Group of Eight) leaders gathered for a summit in Germany.
Musharraf targets print media now  
The National Security Council (NSC) which met here with President General Pervez Musharraf early this week, had decided upon an ordinance to restrict publication of objectionable cartoons or articles in newspapers and magazines that could defame the armed forces or other state institutions, Daily Times reported.
Khaleda charged with attack on Hasinas rally  
A victim of the 2004 heinous grenade attack on a rally has filed a case accusing former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, Jamaat-i-Islami Ameer Matiur Rahman Nizami and 26 others of instigating terrorists to carry out the carnage that left 24 killed and 200 wounded.
UK scientists believe theres life out there  
The scientists expect that the first evidence of primitive alien life, such as microbes and vegetation, will emerge within 10 years, with more substantial finds following future space missions.
CIA leak: Libby gets 30 months jail  
Lewis Libby Jr, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney and one of the principal architects of President Bushs foreign policy, was sentenced on Tuesday to 30 months in prison for lying during a CIA leak investigation that became part of a fierce debate over the war in Iraq.
