PEOPLE'S PROBLEMS
Pathetic condition of roads in City

Road widening
The road widening project undertaken by the BBMP along Ananda Rao Circle to Basaveshwara  circle is causing a lot of chaos on roads passing through Seshadri road and Infantry road, since a major portion of the road which was in use has been been taken way due to the project. The present traffic situation can be eased by opening an underpass connecting Cubbon Park to Basaveshwara Circle. I hope the authorities will consider this proposal.

Bad roads

The Kurubarahalli Main Road that extends from the Shankar Mutt Circle to Kurubarahalli Bus Stand connecting to the Ring Road in Laggere in JC Nagar extension is in a bad shape. There are virtually no footpaths and pedestrians will have to make do with the available facility. Walking on roads can pose a threat to the life of pedestrians. The open drains and potholes add to the chaos. Encroachments by shop keepers is also an issue. I wish these issues would be addressed at the earliest.

Pathetic roads
The condition of ECC road in Whitefield is pathetic. Construction work that has been going on for the past three years on either side of the ECC Main Road in Whitefield has completely ruined the condition of the 20-feet road making it almost impossible for use by both pedestrians as well as motorists. Construction trucks carrying heavy material ply on these roads through the day and the rains have added to the chaos. In addition, at the mouth of the road junction between ECC Road and Whitefield Road, there is a functional weigh bridge (SB Weighers). Lack of street lights and truck traffic makes commuting impossible.
Isn’t it the duty of civic authorities to get the road repaired, storm water drain constructed, street lights installed? And ensure that construction trucks do not use the road indiscriminately? The government needs to focus towards bringing in honest and qualified staff as township planners.
