Members of various organisations loc-ked-up the BEO’s office for over four hours protesting against the alleged distribution of books which propagated Christianity in schools in the district.
Led by Dharma Jagarana Vedike, the protesters arrived at the office at 11 am on Wednesday. They locked up the doors and began shouting slogans against the BEO.
The protesters relented only after the DDPI assured them that action would be initiated against the BEO after an inquiry. The doors were opened at 3 pm.
