Cong to oppose CET for PG
Bangalore, DHNS:

Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council H K Patil on Wednesday  said that Congress will oppose introduction of Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to Post Graduation course as it will cause injustice to poor students from rural areas.

Speaking to media persons here, Mr Patil said that the JD (S)-BJP coalition government was making a big mistake in introducing the PGCET which would lead to further regional imbalance with deprivation of prime branches to the rural poor in far off places. Stating that the new measure of PGCET would also hit the autonomy of the universities, he said that they (universities) could be reduced to Government departments.

Regarding pendency of Government files, Mr Patil alleged eight departments including the Department of Commerce and Industry, were not furnishing the list of files pending.

He took a dig at the chief minister for clearing some of the files at the airport. “But unfortunately the files concerning the common man are gathering dust in the chief minister’s office,” the Congress leader   alleged.
