The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) on Thursday said it has restored drinking water supply to east Bangalore areas which went dry on Wednesday following damage to its main feeder pipeline in Ulsoor.
Residents of Indiranagar, Ulsoor, HAL II Stage, ITPL, Kodihalli and Byappanahalli were affected due to lack of drinking water supply. The pipeline, located five metres inside the earth in front of Gurudwara, had started leaking and BWSSB had dug up the road to take up repair works. This led to heavy traffic jam on the route.
BWSSB Chief Engineer Venkataraju said the water supply has been restored to all areas. “As far as the road is concerned, the dug-up portion has been filled and traffic allowed. After three days, this portion will be asphalted,” he said.
