Four boys drown in Channapatna
Bangalore, DH News Service : A tiles contractor died in a freak accident on Hosur Road on Wednesday night. According to the police, Kundan Singh (26), of Bihar, was riding his motorbike when a metal sheet covering the roof of a shed flew due to strong wind and cut his stomach. He died in the hospital.

Banker run over
   Ravi Kumar (27), an employee of a private bank, was run over by a truck near Electronic City on Wednesday evening.
   Lorry driver Ramesh was arrested.

Housewife ends life
   Anasuya, a housewife, committed suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan at her Kamalanagar residence on Wednesday night.
   She was married to Rajanna, a security guard. Anasuya’s father has lodged a dowry harassment complaint with the police.

Man’s body found in drain
   A 30-year-old man’s body was found in a drain near Silk Board junction on Thursday morning.
   Madivala police suspect the man might have slipped and fallen into the drain.

Bikes worth lakhs seized
   Ulsoor police arrested two persons and recovered 11 two-wheelers worth Rs 3.50 lakh from them.
   The two are: Amit Thakur alias Devendra Thakur, a resident of Kodihalli, and Jugnu alias Nagendra Jha, a resident of Vinayaknagar, Kamakshipalya.
   They have been remanded to judicial custody.

‘Courier boys’ loot house
   Three youths posing as courier boys made away with valuables worth Rs 70,000 from a house in Banashankari II Stage on Wednesday.
   According to the police, the three gained entry into the house, tied owner Jayalakshmi (60) to a chair and decamped with valuables.

Polishers ‘clean up’ house
   Two men posing as jewellery polishers from Mumbai cheated a housewife to the tune of Rs 80,000.
   According to the police, the duo entered Meena’s house in Bhuvaneswari Nagar and displayed their skills in cleaning silver and brassware.
   Impressed, Meena handed them her jewellery. They rubbed the jewellery, put them in a cooker and asked her not to open it for 20 minutes and slipped out.
   When she opened the cooker, Meena realised she had been cheated.
