Ullal MLA U T Khader has urged the Deputy Commissioner to appoint a special advocate to vacate the stay against the stalled Ashraya houses in Ombhattukere near Ullal.
Addressing a press meet here on Thursday, he said an urge in this regard had been made when Mr Aravind Srivasthav was the deputy commissioner of the district. The present DC also has the report with him, containing details on the project. He should appoint a special advocate on behalf of the government and vacate the stay at the earliest,” Mr Khader said.
The DC has also been convinced on the inevitability of vacating the court stay. I have faith in him, he added.
He said the development works initiated by his father U T Fareed has been completed by 75 per cent, and he (Mr Khader) would venture on to completing the works in the remaining term.
He also said he would not promise further, as he was not sure he could fulfill everything “in the prevailing political situation in the State”. Replying to a query, Mr Khader said no special expenditure had been made during elections. Our workers spent their own money for campaigning purposes, he added. He also alleged that the BJP members had been carrying out systematic propaganda against him for the past 6-7 months.
