International Aerobic instructor certification is now coming to India for the first time from AFAA - USA, the world's largest fitness educator founded in 1983, and has issued over 2,00,000 certifications to fitness professionals from across 73 countries.
The Course
AFAA delivers comprehensive cognitive and practical education for fitness professionals grounded in fitness industry research, using both traditional and innovative modalities. AFAA upholds basic exercise standards and guidelines for safe fitness practice.
AFAA aims to establish standards and guidelines for the delivery of quality and professional fitness services and business practices and development of ethics statements for AFAA fitness professionals.
It offers a variety of certifications and specialty workshops. Each year, health clubs and studios host over 2,500 educational workshops across the nation. AFAA provides a comprehensive written and practical examination accredited by Vital Research.
AFAA is granted affiliate status with the National Board of Fitness Examiners (NBFE) and is a member of the National Organisation of Competency Assurance (NOCA).
The aerobic group instructor programme training will start from June 16 which will cover basic exercise standards and guidelines, anatomy, exercise science, exercise evaluation and exam criteria and practicals and will conclude with exam and workshops in Bangalore from July 22 to 24.
The director of AFAA-USA, Lisa Hamlin, will be conducting the exam and she will also conduct workshops on aerobics, pilates, double ball and muscle conditioning. AFAA - USA is looking forward to building a team of examiners and presenters for their programmes in group exercise, step aerobics, kickboxing and personal training in India.
