Commerce ministry seeks Rs 500 cr to fund plan
Centre plans leather parks  
Union Commerce Ministry proposes to set up integrated leather parks (ILPs) across the country for increasing the production capacities in the leather sector to meet the supply chain for growing leather export.
Inflation eases to 8-month low  
The wholesale price index-based inflation rate dipped to 4.85 per cent for the week ended May 26 from 5.06 per cent in previous week, as food items and some manufactured products became cheaper.
GSM subscriber base up to 130 m  
The All India GSM subscriber base grew from 125.57 million in April 2006 to 130.6 million in May 2007 recording an addition of over 5 million during the month under review.
Fujitsu Ltd to create 5,500 jobs in India  
Fujitsu said the move would boost the number of employees at its business in India to 8,500 by 2009 from about 3,000 currently.
