MOOD n EXPRESSION IN CITY
Mangalore, DHNS:

“Every artist should have his/her own identity.
A viewer should understand who the artist is just by looking at the picture,” opined Chairman of Alva’s Education Trust Dr Mohan Alva.
Speaking after inaugurating the painting exhibition titled ‘mood ‘n’ expression’ by G Kandan at Prasad Art Gallery here on Thursday, he said that it is the duty of the public to encourage talented artists.
Now a days, the gap between the artist and general public is widening. The main reason behind this is that they are unable to understand art.
Hence, it is necessary that art speaks the language of common man, said Dr Alva.
Interior designer and President of Mangalore Ladies Club Naina Fernandez urged the art lovers of Mangalore to purchase original pieces of art and encourage the local artists and added that paintings are really affordable in Mangalore.
Professor at Mahalasa School of Art N S Pathar said that artists should use the contemporary art market properly and added that the artists should be dedicated so as to earn a value in the international market.
Managing Trustee of Gurukula Public School at Koteshwar Anupama S Shetty Bandia presided over the function.
