Condemning the statement made by film director M S Sathyu against them, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists protested by  burning his effigy, here on Friday.
   The procession which began from Jayadeva circle reached the Gandhi circle where the activists shouted slogans against Sathyu. Later, they burnt his effigy.
   District unit president M S Ramegowda said the statement against Karve by Sathyu should be condemned in the strongest of terms.
   He should immediately offer an apology. Sathyu should also be ready to face a situation where his face will be painted black, he warned. Instead of working side by side with the Kannada activists, he is making insulting remarks and creating controversies which is not correct, he said.
