If you are looking to accessorise your house here’s one place for you. You do not have to go to Rajasthan for ethnic paintings or to Egypt for antique wallplate hangings or traditional seats, or to Thailand for lovely handmade decorative vases made of mango wood. Everything is in your City at the India Imports, Exports and Manufactures Trade Fair at Kanteerva Indoor Stadium from June 8 to 11, from 10 am to 8:30 pm.
This exhibition has a number of countries participating—Thailand, Egypt, Kenya, Pakistan, Cambodia and Laos, besides participants from across India like Jaipur, Mussorie, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, etc.
Thailand stalls have a lot of stuff to offer — there are beautiful vases, show pieces, and exclusive decorative items, besides accessories like jewellery made of precious stones like Mother of Pearl, sea shells and even bags and glasses.
There are Egyptian lamps and traditional night dresses from Egypt, furniture showpieces made of onyx from Pakistan and showpieces of tribal men from Kenya to the African showpieces made of soft stones.
There were many stores from Namma Bengalooru too — a cycle stall, furniture stalls and children’s furniture, besides silk bedspreads, table cloths. There was a number of Malaysian paintings and stonework art available and lots of furniture stores.
There was mystique art from Hyderabad where real flowers were treated chemically and preserved between two layers which are vaccumised, sealed and framed to look like paintings.
There were medical and health equipments like massager with accupressure points, eye packs and face packs to reduce fatigue, tension and dark circles around the eyes.
The trade fair has been organised by icare Communication. Rais Arif, a representative of the firm said, “We have been organising the exhibition for the past four years and the response has been great. The experience has always been a satisfying one; every year the number of people increase — both onlookers and participants”. Lokesh Raj, also an organiser, said, “Our motive is to create a channel for retail”.
