The Wildlife Protection Act 1972, outlines that there should be no human settlement in the forests. With all this in place if we make the choice of living in these fragile areas, then we should reap the seeds.
Sir,
This is in relation to the recent news of tribal sheltering in tree houses in Nagarahole National Park for protection against elephant rampage.
I would like to point out that humans are supposed to build their homes outside such core wildlife zones. The forest department had initiated a Tribal Relocation Programme in Nagarahole way back to provide them with shelter and alternate employment.
We must also know that the Wildlife Protection Act 1972, outlines that there should be no human settlement in the forests. With all this in place if we make the choice of living in these fragile areas, then we should reap the seeds. Animals will never enter "human" territory for any reason unless disturbed by us.
Over here it's a pity that we have encroached upon the land of the animals and blame them for rampaging and killing.

Blatant bias
It is disappointing to note the captions in certain media about the AP Government's new rule in avoiding religious conversions in holy Tirumala Hills.
One of the fancy captions by the media is "Tirumala Temple only for Hindus" and some more funny ones like this.
Apart from aggressions from foreigners including Muslims few centuries ago, who systematically intruded into our culture and even forcibly converted innocent Hindus, during the present days, we are seeing our politicians contribute their might by their secular policies and blind support for even illogical demands of minorities at the cost of majority Hindu rights and sentiments.
The media is further damaging the highly broad- minded Hindu religion by such absurd captions. Days are not far off when all these people will be made to realise their blatant bias towards majority Hindus due to intolerable situations created by the highly pampered minority sections of the society.

Where are the credentials?
It is reported that the coalition partners of the Congress in the UPA are unhappy with it's choice of Shivaraj Patil for the post of president.
Indira Gandhi showed utter cynicism when she foisted Fakhrudin Ali Ahmad and Jail Singh on this country as its first citizen. Their only qualification to occupy any office of some importance was that they were her unabashed and self proclaimed sycophants.
Sonia Gandhi has gone one step further in selecting Shivraj Patil, who cannot claim to have even that credential. His choice is perhaps true to the saying "kicking one upstairs" as Patil's record as the Home Minister is abysmal to put it most charitably.
Why do political parties want one of their 'kind' only to be the Head of the state? At least BJP had the courage to experiment with a non-political, intellectual in that office. What is Sonia afraid of? Does she want the President to pull the Congress chestnut out of fire after the next general elections?

Stop the destruction
After the cataclysmic reservation force let loose gamely by the politician I shudder to think of our country's future. The Gujjar revolt has shaken my faith in the reasonableness of our politicians and in the so-called unity of our nation.
When reservations for two groups SCs and STs were introduced for 10 years only, no one objected because it seemed a genuine step. But our Constitution forefathers failed to gauge the abominable evil of our politicians to come who could manipulate this affirmative action to divide and destroy this country for a limited vote-bank.
I still maintain that instead of caste the constitution makers could have used the poverty of SCs and STs as a yardstick and given affirmative action so that the cancer of caste reservation could have been avoided in the Constitution.
Today this nation of over one billion people face the cataclysmic evil force of caste reservations getting out of control and shaking the roots of this nation which is now crying for unity; for proper upliftment of the poor; for a minimum safeguards for a better future.
But sadly our politicians have tasted blood. Like a pet tiger tasting blood and going berserk these men of dubious reputation are pushing this nation down a precipice. Can anyone stop this destruction even at this late stage? Noor Mohammad
Provide good buses
The residents of Brindavan extension in Mysore approached several times with the help of local MLA to provide at least vehicles in good condition, if not new vehicles, to route no.133 (2schedules) plying between C.B.S. and Brindavan extension and Metagalli, but so far situation remains the same.
The result: the residents have to go to K.R.S. road near Sanatorium to catch other buses to reach CBS. Further one schedule route no.133 performs duty for less number of hours. Further route no.120 and 125 which were plying earlier are cancelled without notice and the statement of city division that these routes are not bringing sufficient revenue holds no water as several routes plying in other areas are also not bringing proper revenue and they are plying.
Therefore it is requested to help the residents of Brindavan Extension-1st.and 2nd.stages- by providing good vehicles for Route no.133 and restoring Route nos.120 and 125 as soon as possible.
