Kumbham, an initiative to revive traditional pottery, is the child of K B Jinnan. This art exhibition focuses on terracotta creations and are displayed in a gallery at Gudi Heritage Hut. The exhibition speaks of the creative talent and artistic work while showcasing a variety of products of different range and speciality. This season, the focus is on a concept called ‘Back to Kitchen', which includes amenities like holistic traditional kitchenware.
The traditional form lays its emphasis on artisians who are from Arvacode, a small town in Nilambur in Malappuram district of Kerala. By an approach of ‘Do Nothing’ training process, the community recuperates their lost confidence and gets space for their creativity to evolve. They are offering their expertise for reviving traditional knowledge systems for those who understand culture as a process and not as a product. K B Jinnan has been working in this field for the last 15 years in more than 50 cities including all the metros.
