The Tata Group, one of India’s largest and respected private sector conglomerates, has announced the ‘Second Career Internship Programme’ for women professionals. The programme seeks to provide an oppurtunity and explore expertise of talented women professionals who have opted to take a career break after some initial years of work.
The Tata Second Career Internship Programme (SCIP) is open to women with qualification in management, accountancy, law or engineering, with minimum four years of experience in functions like HR, marketing, finance, legal, manufacturing etc.
However, the applicants should have taken a career break of less than eight years, the company statement said.
Besides attractive project fees of upto Rs 4 lakhs, the plan offers flexible time, 500 hours of engagement spread over five-six months, live business projects, initially in Mumbai/ Navi Mumbai/Pune, project presentation to Tata senior management team, five days management programme at Tata Management Training Centre (TMTC), Pune and work certificate.
Multiple domains
The Tata Group companies will offer projects across multiple expertise domain areas.
Selected candidates will get the opportunity to work on a ‘live business project by Tata group companies with approximately 500 hours of engagement which will be spread over five to six months on flexi-time basis. Women professionals selected for SCIP projects will get to work with the best of Tata managers who will be their guide till the end of the project.
At the end of the project, the candidate will have the option of transitioning into a full time employment.
