Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust will organise Navodaya SHG members Navodaya chaitanya convention on March 14 at Swaraj maidan in Moodabidri, said Managing Trustee M N Rajendra Kumar.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday, he said the convention will be attended by silver screen actors like Rajesh, Padmajaraj, Aparna, Yash, Acchutha, Sowmyalatha, Dilipraj and Suresh.
There will be entertainment programme by G B Rangashayi and mimicry artist Vismaya.
Fashion show
Mr Kumar said as part of the convention, there will be a fashion show by SHG members. This will provide a platform for the SHG members to showcase their talents.
The competition will be held for both men and women. It will be held in two categories viz; married and unmarried. The fashion show will also showcase traditional Indian culture. The fashion show will be inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao at 2.30 pm.
Procession
Prior to the convention, there will be a colourful procession. This will include tableux, ‘kombu,’ ‘chende,’ ‘panchavadya,’ ‘Kudubi nrithya,’ ‘Gandhi,’ ‘keelukudure,’ ‘Kiratha nrithya,’ ‘Karaga nrithya,’ ‘chakrathala,’ ‘bhajan,’ ‘kangeelu dance,’ ‘etthinagadi madumagalu,’ Nasik band, ‘Veeragase,’ ‘Gondolu,’ ‘Halaga,’ ‘jum, jum,’ ‘bhajan-kolata,’ ‘drum archestra,’ ‘kolata,’ ‘dollukunitha’ and ‘Keelukudure and dolls.
Mass pooja
To instill religious fervour among the SHG members, there will be mass Mahalakshmi pooja prior to the convention. The pooja will be held under the guidance of Sri Mahaligeshwara Temple Dharmadarshi Vedamurthy Eshwar Bhat. As many as 109 women will take part in the pooja.
An arrangement has been made to supply juice even in the pipes in the vicinity to quench the thirst of the participants. All the Chaithanya insurance holders will be supplied with free uniform.
As part of the convention, luckydips have been arranged for the participants. The first prize winner will receive golden finger ring, two sewing machine and 10 clocks.
