As many as 479 teams will conduct a special survey on Malaria in the areas coming under Mangalore surveyors, he added.
Answering a question, he said Rs 1,000 fine is being collected from builders if construction remains are dnt here on Monday, Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao said a total of 52 supervisors had been appointed to monitor the survey in each ward.
Glass slides, lancet, chemicals, guppy and gambucia fish and other requirements have been arranged. A total of 60 vehicles will be used to make the survey quick and comprehensive, he informed.
For the smooth movement of the drive, a total of 12 medical officers have been appointed as the nodal officers, while 6 other as programme executors.
The teams comprise two members, and a total of 1,200 members have already been trained for the purpose.
The DC said as many as 200 banners, one lakh pamphlets have been arranged. The surveyors will be given identity cards. Special ‘yellow cards’ have been prepared as ID cards for migrant labourers.
Stating that 60 per cent of the Malaria mosquitoes originate in construction sites, Mr Rao said 8 separate teams have been constituted to control Malaria spreading through construction/migrant workers under the leadership of Dr Deepak Bolar.
A laboratory has also been arranged with the co-operation of Kasturba Medical College.
The drive will be flagged off at a brief function at Town Hall at 9.30 am on March 11, where a total of 12 counters will be arranged to give proper instructions to the City Corporation limits from March 11.
