Sania has done enough: Serena 
US tennis star Serena Williams has said that Sania Mirza has done enough for the country, despite the latter not playing in the Bangalore Open, which concluded on Sunday. “Whether she plays or not, she has done a lot for her country,” Serena said. “There is great pressure. She can reach the top 10 but she has to be consistent for that,” Serena said.

South Zone volleyball
The 15th South Zone senior National volleyball championships for men and women will be held from March 12 to 16 at the JP Nagar Sports Club in Bangalore.

The event will have five teams each in both sections competing for top honours at the Durga Parameshwari grounds. Kerala are the defending champions in men and women sections.

Chopra finishes tied 36th
Daniel Chopra signed off with a final round of one-over 71 to finish tied 36th in the USD 5.3 million PODS Championship, reports PTI from Palm Harbour, USA.

Chopra was a 10th tee starter, picked up a shot on the 11th and seventh holes but the bogey treble on 15th, sixth and ninth blighted his card and Chopra ended with a 72-hole total of four-over 288. Sean O’Hair survived a scare and fired a final round of 69 to lift his second US Tour title with an aggregate of 280.

Chappell to hunt talent in City
For those who think they have missed out on being part of the Indian Premier League (IPL), there is an opportunity to get into an IPL team, reports DHNS.

The Jaipur IPL team Rajasthan Royals, which owned by Emerging Media, is conducting a Reebok Cricket Star Twenty20 talent hunt programme in the City on Wednesday and Thursday (March 12 & 13).
The event is a nation-wide muliti-city selection process being conducted by former Indian coach Greg Chappell at the NRA Palace ground, Jayamahal Road. The interested can register at the venue before 8 am. For further information please contact Sushil Tulaskar on 9820839813.

CA to decide on Pak tour
Cricket Australia (CA) should make a decision by the end of the week whether they will proceed with their tour of Pakistan, a spokesman for the governing body in Australia said on Monday, reports Reuters from Sydney.
