With an objective to uplift Idiga community economically, spiritually and intellectually, Arya Idiga Mahasamsthana is holding a four-day cultural and religious programme at Solur under Magadi taluk of Ramanagaram district, starting March 17.
Addressing reporters, vice-president J P Narayanaswamy said the community has decided to offer the status of ‘Kulaguru’ to Idiga Maraiah Swamy, who will be known as Arya Shri Renukananda Swamy.
A Gurupeetha will be set up on 14 acres of land and Kulaguru Renukananda Swamy’s Pattabhisheka will also be performed.
On March 19, Jayendra Swamy of Bangalore Kailasa Ashrama will adorn Renukananda Swamy with a crown and perform Pattabhisheka. Former Chief Minister S M Krishna will inaugurate the function.
