A security guard was bludgeoned to death in Bommasandra Industrial Area, in Hebbugodi police station limits, on Monday night.
He has been identified as Dasappa (50), a resident of Kachanayakanahalli and a native of Kadur. Dasappa was guarding the post office when a gang entered the premises and killed him.
They ransacked the cash counter. On finding no money, they fled the spot,  according to the police said.
Man run over
A man was run over by a truck on H Marigowda Road in Siddapura, in Wilson Garden traffic police station limits, on Monday night.
He has been identified as Venkat (45), a resident of Guttepalya.
According to the police, Venkat was trying to cross the road when the incident occurred. The truck driver is stated to be absconding. A search is on for him.
