“ Terrorism is now a global problem and has magnified at alarming speed. What makes it even more dangerous is that educated youth are part of circle and play and active role in creating disharmony in the world. The only way that this problem can be combated is to have an equally determined youth with an unmatched and unshakeable sense of nationalist pride,”said Pavagada Police Circle Inspector O B Kalleshappa.
He was speaking after inaugurating the cycle rally by the NSS students of the Pavagada First grade college. The rally had been organised by the police department and Rotary Club.
The official also opined “Even in Karnataka which was a haven for peace is in the circle of terror. We need to ask ourselves where we are going wrong?”
He also appreciated the role being played by the first grade college in the overall development of their students and for encouraging them to explore new avenues.
The Chief Guest for the event was Dr Chikka Reddy, member of Zilla Panchayat who called on every resident of Pavagada to help with the conservation of the environment. “ As a drought stricken area, we will have no future if the environment is not protected. For this the youngsters should spread awareness amongst the people” he added. Rotary President M S Vishwanath announced that awareness programmes about cancer would be held at Arsikere, Hoskote and Mangalvad in association of Rajamahalvilas Rotary Club, Bangalore. Principal Y S Hanumanthrayappa presided over function.
