Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, he said the government has to pay a sum of Rs 600 crore to the co-operative institutions. It has a serious impact on the functioning of the sector.
A notice has been sent to the government to pay the money. If the government fails to reply to the notice, we along with nearly 25 institutions will approach the court seeking justice, by month end.
Mr Sathishchandra also urged the government to implement Prof Vaidyanathan Committee report. “To protect the dairy farming, the government should intervene and provide financial assistance to the farmers,” he said.
Sahakara Bharathi President Sanjeeva Matandooru said that with all these demands, Dakshina Kannada district Co-operative convention will be held at Swamy Kalamandiara in Puttur on March 16. The convention will be inaugurated by former MLA K Ram Bhat while Sahakara Bharathi State President K Narasimha Nayak will preside. Karnataka State Co-operative Federation President G T Deve Gowda, Karnataka State Sauharda Sanyuktha Sahakari President Manohar Maski and Sahakara Bharathi General Secretary Gurunath Jyathinkar will be the chief guests.
