The BJP on Monday announced a list of 14  of its candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls which include former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shanta Kumar, party secretary Balbir Punj, spokesman Prakash Javadekar and  Gujarat state President Purushottam Rupala .

The decision was taken at  party’s central elections committee’s meeting  here presided by senior BJP leader L K Advani.

All 14 names along with the states they are seeking election from, are as follows: Himachal Pradesh - Shanta Kumar, Orissa - Balbir Punj,  Maharashtra - Prakash Javadekar, Chhattisgarh - Shiv Pratap Singh, Bihar - C P Thakur, Jharkhand - Jai Prakash Narayan Singh, Madhya Pradesh - Maya Singhl, Raghunandan Sharma and Prabhat Jha, Rajasthan - Om Prakash Mathur and Gyan Prakash Pilania, Gujarat - Purushottam Rupala, Bharat Singh Parmar and Nattuji Halaji Thakore.
