Saran is climate change envoy
Seasoned diplomat Shyam Saran was on Tuesday named as the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy on climate change, PTI reports from New Delhi. Saran, former Foreign Secretary, has been given the charge in addition to his role as PM’s Special Envoy on the nuclear issue.

18 Indians in  YGL list
Music composer A R Rahman, parliamentarian Sachin Pilot, sitarist Anoushka Shankar and businessman Jeh Wadia are among the 18 Indians in the list of Young Global Leaders for 2008 announced by the World Economic Forum, UNI reports from Geneva. The honour is bestowed each year by the WEF to recognise the top 200-300 young leaders from around the world.

One killed, 5 hurt in Assam blast
A man was killed and at least five others were injured when the ULFA triggered a blast at Doomdooma in Tinsukia district of Assam on Tuesday, reports DHNS from Guwahati.

Dutt to produce proof of marriage
Sanjay Dutt and his bride Manyata have been directed by a Mumbai court to appear before it on April 1 and prove the legality of their marriage, reports IANS from Mumbai. The newlyweds were summoned for a court hearing on a case filed by Manyata's first husband, Meraj-Ur-Rehman who claims that he is still married to her.
