Speaking at the first citizens’ groups’ meet organised by the CMC here, he accepted several petitions from the groups, and assured them that steps will be taken to implement their suggestions. He said that the planners would discuss the suggestions with the groups, and the CMC’s decision will be communicated at the CMC general body meeting, or at a special meet.
He also said that the meet was called for in order to collect the viewpoints of different organisations on the comprehensive development of the city.
Speaking at the meet, vice-president Vaalechandru said that for the comprehensive development of the city, all 35 members of the CMC, citizens’ groups and CMC officials should work together.
Co-operation
“If any one of these three sections disagree, then development will not take place, hence everybody should think in this direction. If the officials do not co-operate, then they will have to answer to the citizens’ groups,” he warned.
“A report should be submitted with the masterplan for development by 2025, in order to inspire the CMC, and the revenues should also be increased,” he added.
Aslam Pasha also requested CMC members, officials, political parties, experts and citizens to reflect on this and send in written suggestions before March 25.
All the suggestions will be pooled in, and action will be taken by the respective departments, said Vaalechandru.
