Maradirangappa of the Janakallu village, Bukkapattana hobli was having an illicit relationship with Lakshmamma of Madenahalli since ten years. However, Lakshmamma was also having an illicit relationship with Rajanna of Madenahalli.
On knowing this Maradirangappa began abusing her under the influence of alcohol. Lakshmamma hatched a conspiracy to kill Maradirangappa with the assistance of her relatives Govindaraju, Rajanna, Rangaswamaiah. They killed Madarirangappa who was asleep at Thimmaraju’s house by strangling him with a piece of rope in March 2007, informed the city police. Moreover, Madarirangappa’s body was hidden in the house for a day and was later transported in Govindappa’s tractor. The body was later hung to a tree to make it look like Maradirangappa has committed suicide.
Also, a case was registered on the same lines with the city police station.
 The accused were however arrested on March 6, 2008.
