Kodagu district received rainfall accompanied with thunder and lightning on Wednesday.
Though it was cloudy from afternoon, it finally poured in the night.
Owing to the rainfall, all the drains and roads were filled with water in Madikeri. Even Somwarpet, Kushalnagar, Harangi, Gonikoppalu, Ponnampet also experienced drizzling. The rain also helped to douse the forest fire in Anekadu and Nagarahole reserve forest. The shower has also brought smile on the face of the coffee growers. The pre-monsoon shower helps the coffee to flower.
