National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK) in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard University Relations will organise a two day workshop on ‘Mastering the art and science of teaching engineering and research’ (MASTER), at NITK, Surathkal on March 13  and 14.
According to a press release issued by NITK, engineering faculty is generally hired on the bases of their academic qualifications and excellence in research.

The main focus of workshop will be on providing ready-to-use information and techniques.
Each session will comprise of an instructional presentation of 40-45 minutes, which will be followed by a hands-on activities using real world situations/materials.
Each session will close by sharing the results of the hands-on activities and listing the key take-away points.
On day 2, participants will deliver 15-minute mini lecture using simple instructional aids which will be video-recorded, played back and analysed for individual and group learning.
Delegates from IITs, IIMs, NITs and some other reputed engineering colleges will participate in the workshop.
The workshop will be conducted by Dr Veena Kumar and Dr Vinnie Jauhari, University Relations Manager of Hewlett-Packard India, the press release added.
