Mysore Manages Modest Surplus
Bangalore, Mar 12.
A suplus of Rs 11.05 lakhs without any additional taxation: Loud applause greeted this announcement at ailing Finance Minister Mariappa presenting the budget for the year 1958-59, in the Mysore Assembly today.
The budget estimated the revenue at Rs 5,096.63 lakh and the expenditure of Rs 50,260 lakh, showing a surplus of Rs 11.05 lakh.
Troops Land Behind Rebel Positions
Singapore, Mar12.
Djakarta Radio said tonight the Central Government paratroops had captured and occupied Pakan Bahru airport. Pakan Bahru about half-way across Sumatra is some 120 miles from the rebel centres of Padang on the Indian Ocean and Bukit Pingi. A victory there would see government troops poised for a drive along the road to Padang.

Summit Ends With Accord On Issues
New Delhi, Ma 12.
The New Delhi Summit passed into Non-Aligned history today as Heads of State and Government run the curtain down on their six-day conference on the hopeful note that under India’s Chairmanship the 101-nation movement will gain greater cohesion and unity.
Mrs Gandhi said that “the conference is over but the accord must endure.”
