The search, though, is nothing but the theme for his second music video and he's in India scouting for talent that will help finish his video.
Combining Indian music and the flavours of salsa in his work, Giju's passion for the two forms of art goes beyond just churning out music videos. Along with singing which has always been his dream coupled with an ambition to make it big in the field, creating awareness and introducing people to the actual form of salsa is his aim. "There are many who are not familiar with the flavour of salsa and my ambition is to present them with the accurate style and spread the dance form through Indian music," shares Giju.
Giju's first music album, (songs of experience as he calls them) that was released over a year ago, saw the light of day after much struggle. Trained in Indian classical music and dance, this enthusiastic musician came to Mumbai in the early part of 2006 with much hope to launch a career in music. "I believe that I have something special in the form of music and dance," he says adding that his songs are the result of a Latin-Indian mix. It has the Indian music and lyrics and to complement those are the salsa moves that seven years of training has taught him.
The city of opportunities, though, only made the struggle more formidable, in the process teaching him several lessons that he now believes was fruitful. "I understood several aspects of the work surrounding a music album and it has helped me prepare better for the video that I will be launching this year."
What he hopes to find in India for his next video is dancers who have style and substance. He plans to bring out the video by August-September. And this time he hopes that the fusion of his voice and dance can reach out to a far more larger audience.
